Do You YAVO?

YAVO started with a small group of friends asking the question; how can we help people and have fun at the same time? They had looked into many of the volunteering organizations that were currently available but none that matched what they were looking for. They wanted to be a part of an organization where they could create fun, new ways to help people, meet others with a similar age and passion and have the flexibility to participate at times that fit their schedules.

After talking with others about this new idea, the group decided to create a brand new organization; YAVO. YAVO was officially started in July of 2007. After a few months of getting set up, it quickly attracted many people who were looking for the same things. Since October of 2007, YAVO has been growing exponentially. Currently YAVO has more than 50 members and looks to reach 100 in the next few months. The members have found that there is almost a universal benefit for people in their 20’s to have an organization where they can have fun, meet people and help others.

YAVO looks to continually add new members and incorporate their ideas into the events and how the organization is run. The more members that YAVO has, the more benefit there is to everyone who is involved. As such, the main goals of YAVO are to create a fun environment, attract new members and help others. How YAVO accomplishes these goals is only limited by the effort, cooperation and creativity of its members.
